“Having worked in two sectors, (music and legal) which are dominated by men at the top and seeing so many women leave the industry either because they were not given opportunities or because they had families and needed to work more flexibly, I have wanted to help women navigate the various challenges from entry level to senior leadership and am thrilled to be able to work with such a wonderful crew of females to mentor and educate women in music.”

Victoria Davies

Victoria is a senior media lawyer with 18 years’ experience in the music industry. After studying law at Manchester University, she trained at Harbottle and Lewis LLP for two years before becoming a senior lawyer at GCap Media plc (now Global Radio) where she started an in-house legal career in radio broadcasting.

A chance meeting in the VIP room at Amnesia in Ibiza gave Victoria the opportunity to do some work experience at the Ministry of Sound and although this was in the marketing department, she was soon pulled into the legal team to help draft deal summaries. This convinced Victoria she could combine law with her passion for music.

Victoria worked as general counsel and company secretary at Ministry of Sound for six years, managing all corporate governance aspects and legal aspects of the business, from record label and events, to new ventures such as fashion and bars.

Victoria went to Twitter UK in 2017, where she ran the legal function for the UK business working on a range of issues, from content partnerships to policy issues that affect the tech and media industry and also led the global music team.rything

In early 2023, Victoria moved over to Moonbug Entertainment, the home of global kids brands CoComelon and Blippi, to head up the music and commercial legal team on a multitude of issues related to the company's ownership of music rights and how the company exploits them as well as working with the advertising, marketing and brand partnership teams.
