“Usually the first thing people notice about me is that I’m not from around here.

Some feel threatened by it, some intrigued, some just go on with their business – but very few offer a helping hand.

Moving The Needle is here to support women in the UK music industry throughout their entire career, no matter where they come from, and it fills me with joy to be a part of such an essential cause!”

Sara’s 5 Top Tips:

  1. Before tackling any task, always set a good amount of time for planning, preparing and researching the topic.

  2. Be kind. This industry is built on relationships, everything else comes after.

  3. If you want to learn anything about anyone, just let them do a great deal of talking - It’ll tell you everything you need to know about them.

  4. Work/career is not everything – friends and family should always come first, as they provide the foundation for all your successes.

  5. Don’t let the bastards grind you down – they will try, don’t let them!
