“There’s a saying that all the best intentions and inventions in the world come to nothing without good communicators. I’m so proud to help MTN move the needle on gender equality in music. When I was a student, I only knew of 2 female dance music producers: If you don’t SEE it, you don’t believe you can BE it.

Well, we’re here to change all that!”

Hannah Kapff

Hannah Kapff is founder & managing director of Curious PR, and has supported MTN in a communications capacity since the earliest, coffee-stoked conversations that started with, ‘We HAVE to do something about this!’ and went on to make it happen, alongside Karen Emanuel, CEO of Key Production, and others with a shared vision.

A music obsessive since her earliest years, she grew up on a rich diet of classical, jazz and good pop, learning piano, guitar and percussion at school, and weaving music into every spare inch of life. When Dance Music emerged in the late 80s, she grabbed it with both hands, reading the specialist press till 4am, becoming a broadcast journalist (Granada, BBC, CNBC). She married into the music industry in her 20s, lending insights into the world of big indie label life. She co-founded one of the UK’s first music-meets-brands agencies, Genuine, in the early 2010s, before establishing her own firm, Curious PR, in 2013.

Fast forward to supporting MTN, and Hannah is proud to know that her equality-minded other half (the son of a feminist) gave career opportunities to women which spurred them towards Board level success as global female leaders in the ever-evolving, exciting and unrivalled creative industry that is UK music.

Hannah currently juggles 3 older children with an always-on PR career, but she is most alive when collaborating with others to achieve better experiences or outcomes - especially for future generations.
